Guys, guys guys! There is enough of this already on just about every Honda forum that supports the S2000. Just do a AP1 vs AP2 search on S2Ki and you'll see what I mean. We don't need another flame war here that's going to have people bouncing off the walls for nothing. So stop this shit before the mods lock it. It's not helping the topic starter in anyway whatsoever.
You can cite as many statistics and numbers as you want supporting either or, but when you get down to the bottom of it all, it's personal prefference. It's YOUR ASSOMETER that tells what YOU like and want. Numbers are NOT everything. I've been in both cars, driven both cars, heard both sides of the story from people who race these to just cruise, seen numbers and statistics, and made my decision. That's all there is to it.
Quit beating each other over the head with the ass of a dead horse, ok?

my car sure doesnt feel like 5.5 seconds on the way to 60mph. that would be perfect shifting and a great launch. realistically i would say just a tic below 6sec?

You would be correct. Times posted in mags and promotional propeganda are always done in strictly monitored environments and the cars driven by professional drivers. Granted, not everything in the environment is controlable, nor is the driver's skill level. I've seen numbers posted in mags ranging from 5.4-6.3. I appologize that I cannot cite the sources of that information (too long ago, and I'm sure whatever mag I got those ##s from is thrown out by now.)

This doesn't support your claim that it is faster than the AP1. It says if "feels" more powerful for everyday driving because it delivers torque and peak horsepower at a lower RPM. For 0-60 all it says is less than 6 seconds.
this is like comparing tomatoes and tomatos guys!!!... i have the link where stock s2k ap1 and ap2 from BMI.... the AP2 is only to be stated slightly faster on the track.. all in all --> drivers race...and preference issues.. so stop fighting amongst urselfs.... yea !????

AP2 are quicker but I agree with gansedrifto1. Don't waste your time with 8krpm, you want a S2k so get the AP1. I got my 03 S2k for only $15k from this one old dude that had it garage with only 30k miles. That was a deal
i didnt say my ap1 was quicker btw..... it just feels more raw... and i like it better cause i have one.. HAR HAR
