hey yall whats up

i am in the market for an s2k, dont know what year, but i have a few questions.

1. what is the normal price range for a used s2k with sub 50k miles?
2. any recalls i need to worry about?
3. what year would yall suggest?

any other comments would be great!

Welcome! I would suggest you look at Kelly Blue Book and NADA to find out the price range. I don't know of any recalls. You could check with your Honda dealer on that one. As far as what year you want, well that depends on a lot of things. Certain colors were made in certain years so that might be a factor. Also, the lights were changed in 04 I believe. Depends on whether you like the new style of lights or the old. They reconfigured the center console and also made some interior upgrades as well. Also, different year cars come with different styles of wheels. In 04, they also reconfigured the engine making it a 2.2 instead of 2.0 liter. Reduced the redline from 9k to 8k and increased low end torque. Newer models also have a rear window. You can't go wrong with whatever year you buy. It's an awesome car. You will love it. Just buy the one that you like.

ya color doesnt matter, b/c black is available for all years. i was planning on blacking out the tails so im not worried about that.

what do you mean about back window? like it actually has one instad of that plastic window thing?

In 04 they made a number of changes. One of which was they replaced the plastic window in the soft top with a glass one.

Yes its the chassis code
ap1 = 00-03
ap2 = 04-present

Just like to make a correction: In 2002 they changed the plastic window to the glass.

There is a sticky thread at the head of the S2000 forum regarding changes, recalls, and service stuff. Check that out. Everything is listed out in good detail.
