Oil change question? When should the first oil change be done in my 05' "S"? I've heard many different opinions, because of different break-in preferences. Some people have told me to keep the factory oil in for 7,500mi, and some say 5,000mi. And when should i change over to synthetic...the more replies the better. thanx!

Well the 1st oil change is free at Honda at 1,000klm (not sure how many miles). After that it really depends on your driving style. People can say whatever number they want on when to change your oil. But the truth is, if you thrash your car (any car) more than half the time of driving then 5,000klm intervals is good for oil change. If your a "granny driver" 20% thrash, then 8-10,000klm is good. It just depends on how you drive.
Il give you an example from my expirience, I had an ITR once with some mods one off which was an oil cooler, went to the mountans on a warm day and I drove the balls out of it for about 2 hours in total. Before the mountain I had a service, after the mountain next day, the oil was black and needed replacing.

Honda recommends oil changes every 3,750 miles for the S2000. The oil that comes with the car from the factory has special additives that help all the parts seal correctly, though. In consideration of this, many people will not do the first oil change until 5,000 or 7,500 miles. If you choose 7,500 miles, then it's easy to go back to the regular 3,750 mile interval. Most people switch to synthetic at 10,000 miles.

My 05's owners manual insists 7k miles for the first change.
Dealer told me at 3.5 k miles they'll change it for free.
