I did this for about three-four winters in my S. It really hurts when you know there is a ton of salt grime underneath the car probably causing some premature rust. It really hurts when the temprature drops to ten below, and the clutch and shifter feel like you swapped the fluid with grandma's beef gravy. It really hurts when you drive home or to work and the roads aren't plowed so you do the honors with your front bumper.
. . . and if you get into a fender-bender, it really really sucks to be you. Never got into an accident, but everything else mentioned did. And I had a few close calls with the S. Didn't enjoy it at all.
The good times? It was pretty fun to tool around in the middle of December and January with the top down. And nothing is quite as fun as zipping around in the snow with a rwd car.
All in all, I'm glad mine isn't a daily driver anymore.

there is no "burn cover" for the ap1, carbing craft makes them for the Ap2
You can get teh single exhaust cap "ztec industries" makes one that looks somewhat OEM but they have a horrible reputation and there is another comapny that makes them out of carbon fiber which fit a lot better but cost a bit more.

mount,
fortunately for me, i don't live in the land of cheese ( ) but in queens, ny...
snow is never really too much of a problem here, and even if there was an impending storm or such... i'm the type that always calls out sick from work anyway...
as such, i'm pretty hardcore and can live with a lot of compromise...
my civic is gutted, the shifter does feel like crap when it's below freezing, everything squeaks and rattles, i can't hear my wife if she's sitting next to me when driving her home from the train station, etc...
when you love a car, you live with it and never take it for granted...
out of curiosity, what did you end up with as a dd?

Si senor you would be correct, I have heard good things about the exhaust caps the they are making. GT-Motoring is the company that carries them
