I've just purchased an '03 S2k. It's got the AP1 dashgauge cluster with the straight lines for the gas gauge.
Next to the "E" is a solid red bar that is always on. Next to that is a blank spot where it appears, perhaps, should be one of the yellow bars. Next to that is the first yellow bar.
Also, I ran my car about 10-15 miles past the last yellow bar going out (the one before the blank one that may be missing or out). Went to fill that car up and it took only 10 gal., and it's supposed to have a 13.2 gal tank.
So...
1. Do you guys with an AP1 have a "missing" yellow bar, or do you have a yellow bar immediately next to the red one?
2. If you let all the bars disappear, how many gallons to you get in?

i own a 02 Ap1. to answer ur first question after the red bar - which signifies that your gas tank is empty, i am "missing" a yellow bar, to my knowledge. the gauge cluster will differ from 00-01, and 02. From 02 and on, the fuel gauge is going to make a half circle, and from 00, its just a straight bar... which actually has the yellow bar after a red bar.
2. if i let all of my bars disappear, it depends, due to my mods, my driving style, but roughly i got an extra 20 miles out of it once... downhill ? in neutral ... LOL
