Gun Not Showing In Counter Strike...........

hey, i have a lil' problem with counter strike, when i go in a purchase a weapon, it dosent have/ show the picture of the gun. what updates do i need in order to see the weapon?

i bought the half life patium collection. the counter strike disk is yellow cd#4.

.....and i want to connect to a specific server. where would i type in the following (connect gamer.sspenguins.org) i thought it was tab witch brings down a sort of command promt thing but it dosent. i think its console but i dont have it...

just download Steam and use that instead
