The "Kotaku" Ban (Read OP)

So, over the past few weeks, I've been particularly...what's the word...well, without being too over board, disappointed.

First the posted that article about Kojima being 'disappointed' with MGS4 (which wasn't what he said) then they posted an absolutely HUGE spoiler for MGS4 in their article (not to mention it was in the title, so you saw it just going to the first page, thank god I managed to avoid it).

Finally, they went on some Kojima bashing spree when he tried to correct the western media who screwed up his comments.

Basically, Kojima came out and said that he wasn't disappointed in the PS3 or his development team, rather, 4 years ago he had his abmitions of what he wanted MGS4 to be, not knowing what the PS3 would / would not be able to do. Makes sense right? He's not saying he did a bad job, his team did a bad job, or the PS3 sucks. He's saying he had a vision that was very very ambitious, and he couldn't achieve that.

So Kotaku starts ragging on them, etc. Should I even bring up the bitter tears cried on GAF by their writers because they weren't invited to play MGS4 with the REAL press?

So, it seems silly, but I ask that you guy's boycott Kotaku. It's not even a journalism site, or publication. It's a blog. The site keeps running because of advertisements, so if we stop visiting, maybe they'll get their shit together.

Sounds legit. Unfortunately not all of their material is this slanted, and oftentimes they are one of the first sources to 'hear' about things.

I agree with all of your points though. They turned the table on that entire situation.

Kotaku is just in really really poor standing with the gaming industry right now. They're almost always the first to break embargo's, they leak info they aren't supposed to leak, and now they're posting Fud and HUGE (I'm talking epic) spoilers for MGS4.

Honestly, NeoGAF is the absolute best place to get news. It always pop's up there within minutes of it hitting any site, and you never have to read this crap.

Shit the handful of times I've been to kokatu all I am left with is that image of the horrid color scheme they have and it might as well be a celeb gossip blog, only for games. Full of shiat.

I remember when Kotaku ran articles about RROD and said the failure rate was like 60%, and it turned out they got the number from some small shop in Amsterdam, so freaking sad.

I also remember the time they said Killzone 2 looked like a PS2 game (this was like a few days ago btw, the article has since been taken down).

Tha_con telling us all 5 of us to not use kotaku is not gonna make any difference... Plus I never go on kotaku since im always on Joystiq and yea yea I know they're BS, that why I go on destructiod too! But since you mentioned them ima check it out.
