MK vs. DC Confirmed Worlds collide in a clash for the ages, providing fantasy matches such as Sub Zero vs. Batman. Hopefully, the game will be more like Marvel vs. Capcom and less like Marvel Nemesis.

Midway Games today confirmed that Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is in development. As the name would suggest, Mortal Kombat characters (including Scorpion and Sub Zero) will be facing off against various the DC comic book heroes (such as Batman and Superman). Veteran comic writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray will create the game's story.
"It is a truly unique and extremely exciting effort to be teaming up with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics for the first Mortal Kombat game on next generation platforms," said Ed Boon, co-creator and executive producer for Mortal Kombat at Midway Amusement Games. "The DC Universe characters are some of the most popular and enduring characters in the world. By combining them with the Mortal Kombat mythology, all new gameplay modes and features, plus a completely unique storyline crafted by top comic writers, players will now be able to answer the question: what would happen if Batman fought Sub Zero?"
"For the first time, players will be able to go toe to toe with DC and MK characters in both arena and story mode," said John Nee, Senior Vice President, Business Development for DC Comics. "We've worked very closely with Midway to bring an authentic DCU flavor to their Kombat and the result features our characters like they've never been seen before."
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe will ship for PS3 and Xbox 360 in Fall 2008.

I'll wait to see what the full list of characters will be. But Capcom/Marvel just seems to be a better fit (power of the characters) then M. Kombat v. DC will be. Like I doubt Raiden could hang w/ Superman or the Green Lantern the way the characters are portrayed in their respective universes.

I saw the preview movie on gamespot, it was Batman VS Scorpion or Sub Zero in a free fall, looked pretty cool. But if you include The Green Lantern and Superman, that is kinda messed up, because they are next to unstoppable, unless you take a piss on the Lantern, cause he dont like yellow....

Fighting games don't always make sense... it's the same with Soul Calibur 4. Do you think any of those characters would really stand a chance against Yoda or Darth Vader? Probably not, but it's still fun.

Yeah, about SC4, how come Yoda is on 360 and Vader is on PS3, that is weaksauce, I have the ps3, so the dark side FTW.....
I hope that it is an option to download whatever character doesn't come on your version... I will more than likely pick up SCIV for the 360, and it would be nice to be able to play as Vader without picking up the PS3 version.
