um if i keep a Honda id go with a fully built k24block and built head and turbo it say 30psi and spray it tune it and that would get u over 500whp which would murder any car in a 2200 pound hatch im guessing can be done really well for under 10 grand and would last for years

Good Q! Props for bringing that up! I would have to say that going 160 mph, but taking 2min would make no sense.
I was thinking 1/4 or light to light but some cars have great top end for HWY. Well I guess the Answer would have to Be Both!

Balance will be the Winner!

A 70 mile roll is important but if you can only beat someone up to 70 there isn't much Glory in that at all. A good Car has to have great power throughout! the total power not just peak HP. And yes balanced Torque matters en every gear.

FC3S-lsx under ten grand and depending on lsx you got you easily be talking 500hp

Still very balanced, and an ass load of torque in a rather small and good handling car.

OR

Miata with a 5.0, its a beast even with a stock engine

Being the money is limited I would go with a four door integra with a boosted dart block a built LS tranny with a limited slip diff for the top end. If you can get 500-600 hp and with a big set of wheels like 18's, that should put you around 170-180 mph, and 11's in the 1320 on slicks and thats pushing it.

I'm guessing you can't throw a bike into this mix can you?

If not then I would do a s13 with a ls1 swap. Add cam and headers, heads thats about 10k and your looking at a light ass car making 500-600whp that can handle like crazy.

I say a a LS1 swapped Mazda Miata or a turbo 5.0 mustang for the V8 and then for the 4 cyl a 4G63T swapped Mitsubishi Colt, a KA-T 240sx, or a 1g turbo AWD DSM

Are we talking about still being street legal or track only? Street tires, DR's or slicks? These are important factors.

Fox body stang, should be able to get into the 9s for $10k. (that's total, buying a rolling chassis and new drivetrain)

I'm trying to find an article I ran across a while ago that priced everything out, they had high 7s for under $20k including cage and everything to be legal at that speed.

G35 Coupe, slam twin turbos on it, and a little suspension work and new sticky tires. IDK what kind of power it would make, but it would be a sexy car I can guarantee it.
