Me vs B series swapped ek hatch

So I was out on our usual cruising street for a Saturday night. My friend decided to roll with me with a change to see what was out; so I was hoping to show him some good action. We cruised over to the usual meeting spot after running into 3 other SRT-4's but couldnt get clear roads for any runs. We talk and BS for awhile and after starting to get bored decide to roll out. People go to about 4 different spots but I decided to hit up one because its where people usually go first. So we are just cruising looking for people but so far no luck. After going about halfway and turning around to head home we finally see a small group of civics, a couple Scion TC's and some other cars.

So i decided what the hell Ill roll in there real quick see whats there and leave and go head home. Well we pull in and almost immediatly this guy I know with a ITR swapped EG flags me down and asks me if I want to run someone. So now im thinking oh great its against his type r hatch or another type r eg. He said its a "friend of his".I ask him whats done to it; and not to BS me because I know better. He said "Its a B series" and its just a tad slower than his car. Well now im curious if he is bs'ing because his hatch is pretty quick.I reluctantly say "OK" and so now its now. Now I start getting nervous and my palms start getting sweaty. I then see the competition; a silver color Ek hatch with white wheels. No BOV sound so thats good; but does sound not stock LOL.

We pull out and go a little ways. I roll up to him and tells me to honk and to go from a 25 roll. I agree and slow down and downshift to 2nd. I then hear him downshift to what sounds like 1st and his open downpipe scream as he gets right into vtec. Oh great! i honk 3 times and we go. I have a little lag and he immediatly pulls out a car car and half.SHit! I look down just in time as I finally hit full boost and my tach soars to 6k. I shift and start to reel him in and HARD!. YES YES! Then I hear my friend Yell something that sounded like COP! OH shit! my heart skips a beat almost as I hit the brakes hard and slow. I give a quick look behind me and dont see a thing. My friend looks over at me and says no no I said Light! The light was yellow. DAMNIT MAN I was realing him in. He then signals to the hatch to turn around and go again. So they hit a u-turn and we follow suite.

We then line up again at the same roll 25 MPH. Once again I start in second d'oh and him in first. Same result as the first race. He pulls out immediatly but I real him in the top of third and start to pull away but this time I keep going and pull out a car 2 cars then slow down. Now im all excited and pumped up.

We then line up again from a 25 roll this time with me in first. at about 4-4.5k. I honk and then smash the gas I bounce the rev limiter but then quickly rebound and slam second. and start to pull. Hit 3rd cleanly and Im still pulling. I slam 4th and now im about 2.5-3 cars ahead and still pulling when I slow down.

We line up one last time again with me in first. I honk and this time Im ready for the short gear. I hit 2nd cleanly as my tires scream for traction and start to pull away in the middle of second. Hit 3rd and once again I pull about 2.5-3 cars when I slow down in 4th at about 120. I am pumped thinkig I just beat a type r swapped ek.

I pull back into the parking and everyone is over talking to the hatch owner but no one comes up to my car. I see the guy that set the race up in the beginning just walk past me and not even give me a look. Finally a guy comes up to me window and says "how did u do?" I told him I pulled him about 2.5-3 cars in the top of 3rd but it was diffently a quick hatch. The guy then told me it has the same motor as the guy's hatch who set up the race (a B18C5). At that point I was very excited. Needless to say the whole drive home I was stoked.(sp). I get home and post the kill on a local forum only to have a guy tell me it was a bolt-on GSR. Well I knew that was BS. He then later told me it was a bolt-on GSR and also had headwork plus more. So I dont know what was done to it. The guy wouldnt pop his hood before the race so who knows. Good race either way and a great way to end the night.
