I got my Si on my local 1/4 speedway. It's all rednecks doing wreckin racing with LateModel, StreetStock, and MiniStock racing every week. My wife and I go a couple times a year, it's a good time.
Before and after the sanctioned racing they let spectators take thier cars out and race. The event right before regular racing is Beat The Clock, where you can take your car out and just race the clock for 2 laps, so no worry of someone else hitting you. I finally did it!! My fastest lap was 19.03. The mini stock race cars run 17's. So I think it was a decent time for my first time out, plus being a completly stock FA5.
Plus I drove the whole course in 3rd gear (I was nervous of hitting the wall) and never got more than 5.5K on the tach. I think if I stayed in second or at least shifted between 2nd and 3rd, I could def. improve my time. I got third out of about 10 cars. The only things that beat me were an older Civic (gutted interior and modded motor) that ran 17.84 and a Subaru that ran 17.76. Those 2 times are approx. but I know the Subi won.
Any ways, it was fun. And since I can't find an auto cross closer than 3 hours, this will have to do. I have pics now, and in a few days I'll post video. My wife got me the tracks video for Father's Day, but it won't get here for a few days.
Cliff's Notes?
