TV show Pink i know u watch it, but questions?

okee. first of all thank you for reading mine....
i have questions about the show "pink"...
i see that lots of peeps claim that they have sub 13 sec cars or even faster...
but..
how come i don see no hondas on "Pink"..?

i ve seen battle of crx(h22, from hasport i belive) vs old beattle on pink.. that's it...

i see people claims they have car that gets 12sec all over the web forums..

and how come i don see them on pink..?

i wanna see some civic crushing old v8 tanks...

any1 wanna be in the show..?

On that show, you are liable to lose your car. If you leave early you lose a race. You burn a clutch, better be able to throw another one in pretty quick. There is any and everything that can go wrong with your car, may be something insignificant, but if you lose 2 races, you are done, and no more car. Just because your car may be faster on the street does not mean you will win. People usually bring much faster cars than they say they bring, and they will "sandbag" the first few races to get the negotiations in their favor. They don't want to beat you by a 10 car lengths, or they'll have to give you 10 car lengths the next race. Lots of the shows end up with the more reliable car winning, not always the fastest.

watching same beatndown v8s going at each other is no funn....
anyways it would be waymore funn if those heavy weight Imports(supras, rx7s, stis, evos...) step up..
but i guess no1 wants risk of loosing thier cars over some dumb looking domestics...

Reality of it is, most import cars are slow and they bullshit their times

Yeah...I'm a pinks addict and the typical participant has some type of stripped down V8 made for the show specifically. You'll never see a supra or evo on there because the nice one's which are real killers have thousands upon thousands of dollars invested in them. Also, it doesn't matter how fast your car is on that show, it's all about how you negotiate and even sandbag some races to get the final race that you want, and then run everything you got. And when you think about it, why bring your single turbo supra worth 70,000 to the race when you can bring a rx-7 w/ an LS1 swap and run just as fast if not faster for less than 10,000. They don't really post up the times on the show, but most of the guys run 11's to 9's. It's alot easier and cheaper to hit those times with domestics IMO, at least for a race-only setup. Even thought it's not reliable, it's still 11 to 9's no matter how u cut it.

why? it came out when I was in korea, so no american channels but CNN, and when I did come back to US, i joined USAF and have been outdated from the "world" new's because I simply don't....care

Most of the cars are older domestics on there. I've seen a red civic on there, the kid could not launch, and ended up losing his car. The cars on there are usually pretty evenly matched based on what info the owner provides the producers. There are probably tons of cars trying to get on the show every week, but the producers pick and match people up. They just chose the older domestics more often, maybe because nobody wants to watch a 13 or 14 second civic when they could watch a 11 second mustang or camaro. I don't think a lot of people are bringing their 50K+ cars out there with a good chance to lose it. Most of those cars are thrown together a few days after hearing they are going to be on the show, which is why most of them don't make it through 3 races without issues. I'd be scared to death of losing my skyline or supra to something just as fast that cost 1/5 the price to build.

ummm yeah!!! hondas are retardedly expensive to build and the fact is they weren't ever meant ot be fast in a straight line. 98% of imports are fwd which is terrible for dragracing. domestics dominate imports in drag contests. there has never even been a "fast" stock honda.
