Japan GP thread: *spoiler*

Traitor!
What happened to the "We won't know until we actually race" or "That's why we hold a race to see who's better" type quote?

Button: We won't win at Suzuka

08 Oct. 04

Jenson Button has ruled out securing a win for BAR as the Brackley-based team celebrate a century of grands prix. He might be trying to leave the team for Williams in 2005, but 24-year-old JB said he'd happily climb the podium if only the Honda-powered car was a match for the leading Ferrari. "They're stronger than us in every area," Button - who was second to Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello in Shanghai - said in Japan.

Jenson said the 006 is flattered over a single lap, for example in final qualifying, but in the race BAR is trailing 'about half a second' off Ferrari's pace.

Button also agrees that former BAR team-mate Jacques Villeneuve has 'mellowed' as the French-Canadian lurches back into F1 with Renault and, in 2005, Sauber. Button said: "Villeneuve said to me on the drivers' parade truck in Shanghai, 'everyone wants me to be 'bitter Jacques' but I've got no reason to be'."

*Spoiler warning*

Button really is a traitor... He cut Sato's faster lighter car and cost the Jap dearly, Button heavier fuel load, halting his teammate. After Taku take over Button lead, that banzai dude really goes fast... VERY fast. If only Button hadn't cross Sato's line, he had better chance to take down Ralf and take 2nd.

The race is still running (but it's over now), but rest assure, the headline sports news would be like this "Schumacher brothers takes 1-2", home hero takes 3rd/4th. Shiety Button ....

... And it's official, Michael takes 1st, followed by Ralf, Button and the home hero.

With so much Honda officials are there, I think Button is up to something. Perhaps he's saying "See, I'm stupid... Fire me and let me drive for Williams BMW" .

Any change and I'll edit it accordingly... And it's edited .

yea that was gay. the first lap taku could have force his way infront of Button, but he choose not to becuase they are teamate.

Sato trap speed was faster than everyone else. i think he was the fastest was sato with 180mph, everyone else was around 167mpg. oh yea the new engine was great. fucking button was slowwwww (compare to sato).
i also think that sato could have gotten pole, but when he went out the road was pretty wet (at least wetter than when schumaker bros went out).

Perhaps his driving skill is actually good? And I believe, he's a brit? And with BAR also a brit runned company, having a local icon would boost up image? My 2 cents...

Button 2 stops strategy have something to do with his slow lap time as he brings more fuel... But he must know this and have to let Taku pass whenever there's a chance, not like after 5 laps or so, and I bet he got order from the paddock... Shiety Butthead .

I dont know wtf has been wrong with JB lately. They said that his management mis-read a contract and thought they could leave BAR but it ended up being the wrong forms so it didnt work out like he planned.

I think Button is a great driver for bar, he is the reason that honda is #2 in the construtors championship for the most part, he is very consistent with his race finishes (though he hasent won anything this season). If Button wants to leave though they should let him, he wont drive like he would if he wanted to say so he is just a waste of space. Sato is has great potential and will get better as time goes on so they do have him to look forward to in the future.

As for him saying honda's car is lacking compared ferraris, who the hell's isnt? Honda has a significantly lower budget and the results that they are getting compared to Williams and Mclaren MB are incredible. Both of those teams have a krap load larger budgets and don't produce the results like BAR Honda. Honda is one of the greatest teams in F1 though to this day, just look back at the days of Senna.

edit: Also, Button is most likely gonna find himself in the same situation as WPM. WPM said how he would have amazing results when he went to Williams BMW but that wasent the case. I hope the same turns out for Button, that bastard wants to leave a good team let him. I don't think he will do as good as he is doing with BAR for Williams.
