though there was a comment posted that made me think really hard about something:
if nascar were to only run on tracks like the nurburgring, how would it change things?

would it not be cooler, and specifically, more RELEVANT, if nascar more closely resembled the btcc or dtm?
imagine:
actual mainstream midsize family production cars impala, stratus, camry modified for racing, and braking hard, turning left AND RIGHT...
would be more like the old adage, "race on sunday, sell on monday."

if nascar or the IRL had some more road courses i wud really watch....but other than talledega, daytona, and bristol.....the other speedway races just arent fun to watch.
