Dang! First the Ferrari and now a WRC test drive. What a lucky guy.
Valentino Rossi to Test Fiat Punto
Italian automaker Fiat has confirmed that four-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi will sample the manufacturer’s new Punto, set to debut on next year’s Super 2000 category of the WRC. Rossi, who’s recently tested for Fiat-owned Ferrari in Formula 1, has had several rallying outings in the past, and should try the Punto later this month.
Fiat is hopeful that the Super 2000 package can become the highest step of world rallying from ‘07 onwards, as the FIA seeks to reduce the costs for manufacturers to compete in the WRC.
"Our objective is to compete at a highest level in the World Championship, but without spending 70 million euro per season like Peugeot did,” Fiat Motorsport boss Matilde Tomagnini told Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport.
