Charging problem... 94 CBR 600F2... How do i tell whats wrong?

I have a 94 CBR 600f2 that wont hold a charge... I put it on a trickle charger and fully charged it, took it to a resteraunt for lunch came back out and it started up fine then i rode around for about 45 mins and stopped to get gas, shut it off and it wouldnt start so i got lucky and it popped over with a push start and i hauled ass home...

I remember hearing that the rectifiers are known for going out on these bikes but is there a certain way that i can test the rectifier or a way to test if the battery is just shot or if its something else wrong with it?

Sorry if this is a dumb question... I know how to ride the thing but i still dont know much about working on them :P
