O.K. I have a problem 98 honda 900RR i need to get the motor checked out it has about 30K on it and i hear a knock and a tick.
I have 2 questions :
1. How hard is it to rebuild a bike motor i have past exp. with cars but none rebuilding an engine.
2. does anyone know how much something like this would cost. A break down if possible of parts and labor if i am not able to preform this solo.
The bike is not my only form of transportation so i am not to concerned with it being out of service for a lil while. I also have a friend that is a certified mechanic but i would like to not have to rely on him to do it for me (but a little help never hurt).
Also is this even needed it might be just a valve job or something. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
9 times out of 10 when i hear of "ticking" it is either the injectors which is perfectly normal, or the valves need adjusting, knocking is a whole nother animal, old thread, if its not fixed then reply, not gonna dig into it
