saw someone learning to ride today.

i was walking back to my apartment from class and i see two bikes sitting at the top of the street waiting to pull out. one's a guy on nice looking triumph and the others a chick on an older ninja 250. the triumph pulls out and keeps looking back at the girl but she hesitated and had to wait for traffic. after she pulls out very slowly onto a really busy street she tries to catch up but either doesnt know how or just didn't shift. she was way over redline for about 6-7 secs before grabbing second gear. kinda funny but at the same time that street was way too busy for her to learn on.
discuss.

I guess its nice to see someone trying to learn to ride, I just hope her teacher takes it easy on her from now on so she doesn't get scared out of it. Parking lots and back roads are the place to learn, not busy streets

yea, hitting the streets before they're ready can scare people so much they never wanna ride again. actually riding the bike should be second nature before you see any traffic.

well, everyone has to learn how to ride at somepoint....busy street probably not the best place to learn....but if you learn on a busy street, you will learn fast or fail fast....

hondacura is an unknown quantity at this point
I always tell people to learn on the dirt first (on dirtbikes). If you can master control and riding on the dirt, then you can later get whaterver size motorcycle you are comfortable on. It's hard enough for pros to ride on the street with people driving aggressiveley, not paying attention, and or talking on cell phones.
