first bike was/is my '05 600RR. i love it. enough power to where i will still be happy in a few years and bad ass looks. i took the safty course last year on a 250 honda(first bike i ever rode) and when tax time came around i watched ebay like a hawk and pick up my bike for 4k. some people are all about starting out on a 250 but for me i thought it would be a waste of money because i knew i would want something with more power.

You want honesty? My first bike was a 1969 Honda CT90. More honesty? I still have it.
The bike I learned to ride well on was a '94 XR250L enduro. I surprised myself on that bike as well as some coworkers on a then-fairly-new YZ400F and KLX650. I wouldn't mind a CBR600 or Hawk 650 for the street, but all I have in that category right now is an F4i engine in the garage.

First bike was a 1974 Kawasaki G5. 100cc 2 stroke street/trail bike. I only used it offroad. From there I got a 1998 Kawasaki KX125. Then this summer I got my first street bike, a 2000 Suzuki SV650.

The first bike I owned was a 1970 Honda CT90. Technically street legal but I never registered it for road duty. 'Twas a neat little offroad scooter and was one of the better examples out there. Wish I still had it because clean ones get bought up by collectors for a mint these days. I absolutely love classic Hondas.
After that, I had a 1981 XR250R and a 1986 XR200R. Offroad only. The XR250R was a beastly stump-puller. Everyone who rode it asked me if it was really a 350R with a 250R seat on it, heh . . .
My first street bike (which I own today) is a 1998 CB750. I remember sitting on one brand new in the showroom in 1998, and I fell in love - swore I'd own it some day. It's no wonder I ended up with one, I just had to have it It didn't help that my brother had owned a gorgeous '80 CB750F, or that one of my buddies has had several CB750s including a sand-cast '69, or that the bike that I idolize is its close cousin, the CBX.
