I didn't watch the game, but it doesn't surprise me that the referees would call more fouls on the visiting team than on the home team (in this case, the Kings were called for more fouls). But you know something, that's part of the home court advantage that home teams get, and it's not just basketball -- it occurs in just about any sport. Home court advantage = home town officials = officials favor the home team on most close calls. The way I see it, the only way that a visiting team could get around that kind of officiating is to rout the home team by a big margin, to the point where close calls going against them won't hurt them too much.
But look at it this way. The Kings are the home team for game seven, not to mention that the noise of Arco Arena would put more pressure on the refs on the close calls.
Just my $.02.
P.S. I just hope that rumors of a laser-based detection system for baseball pitches is true. Then we can actually have more fair calls from umpires.
game 5 was ours, shaq's basketball association only awarded shaq to the line once that game: : : :
Stop bitching. If you watch the fouls in slow mo(if you taped it) you will see that the kings actually did foul and got away with some stuff(i saw some dumb calls like the foul when kobe was on a break and pollard fouling shaq, but kings got away with quite a few stuf). The thing that killed the kings was shaqs dominance and him making almost every freethrow, kobe made all his.
on the Elbow yeah kobe threw it delibrately at that spot when he could have done it the whole game, he especially wnated to do it when he did it could have costed him the game: : Bibby's arm was aroundk obe before the ball was inbounded and he was playing too close, so his ass got knocked down. Kobe went and apologized,.
u guys make me laugh
the game is suddenly fixed when the lakers win
kings fans are sooo pathetic, they lose a game and they blame it on fixing??? hahah, what about game 5 when webber knock the ball out of bounds and they got the ball back, im sure that was a fair call haha
and the person who said game 4 was fixed, what u smoking?
shaq gets hack like crazy and he deserves the calls
if they wanted a game 7 how come all the other series were 4-1 and sweeps.
as usual kings fans are just making excuses
and bibby crying on the play was just freakin funny, and dont forget that bibby was grabbing onto kobe the whole time
For every wild idea you King fans can think of about fixing the games I can think of something just as great. I believe that the NBA fixed the game by telling the Lakers to let the Kings win the first few to cause drama. And then win on game 7. The NBA probably didn't just want a sweep by the lakers so they decided to make them throw a couple of games. Fixing games, I'm sure it happens, but speculation is crap. If you want to watch a sport that's fixed then go watch wrestling. I've seen the Kings get away with so much crap and the only thing they want to do is whine about 24/7. It's sad. Almost like children when they don't get their toys and the fans whining, how typical.
I believe that there was another play that should have been called a flagrant foul instead of a shooting foul when shaq ( i believe it was him) hammered down one of the Kings centers pretty hard.... the center could have easily broken his arm since he was falling pretty fast with his hand hitting the floor first.
also... during the Kobe/Bibby elbow incidence... the official was standing right in FRONT of the play so there was no way he could not have seen what had happen because he was at the same angle as the camera. I think that game 6 was a shit load of bs from the refs since a little over 4 fouls were called in less than a minute between the teams.
Regardless... I have high hopes that Kings will take em down...

That was funderburke, shaq went for the ball and fouled him. He was intentionally trying to hurt him so it's not a flagrant.
Bibby was hugging kobe, kobe was trying to get space which in the rule book states you have to, kobe was trying tog et bibby off and an elboe caught him.

what's this "player has to have his space" rule? does that apply when someone is posting up? do you need have 6inches to 6 feet of space between players?

it doens't matter about the space, bibby's arm was around kobe. so that should be a foul, why doesn't shaq just bear hug vlade and throw him on the ground and make a few slam dunks:

yup i agree wait til tonite at the kings home court...dayum this game is gonna be a tyte one, bibby has been amazing along with webber trailing along....i love the lakers and not just kuz of kobe/shaq...i love the way the underdogs of the team take it in their hands like horry, fisher, george, and fox they always have some kinda shot that will amaze u...but i also think phil jackson is one of the best coaches in the nba, hes got 6 titles from the bulls and 2 with the lakers, he knows how to coach a team

I see a few try and defend the Lakers, but clearly, there is just no question about it. Lakers had the game won from the start because of the refs. You gotta look on both sides of the issue and it is a ot more evident that the refs played a huge role in the Lakers winning. Kings are a better team than the Lakers and should have won the game in 5, but nice fucking job by the refs strecthing out the series.
I admit, the Kings are good this year. This does not mean Lakers aren't just as good or better. Also, the only reason people want to complain is so that they have something to chatter about when the Kings lose. "Oh, we lost because of cheating." "Oh, we lost because of the refs." "Oh, we lost because..." and the list goes on and on and on. If you truly believe that the only reason that the series is still going is because of cheating than you are blinded by your constant tries to complain. I guess we'll see what happens in 4 minutes.
