Im way out of shape.

the other night i hopped on my bike and just rode around. i probably got 2 or 3 miles (i was going at a pretty quick pace) i couldnt breathe. i seriously had to stop and sit on the curb, i thought my lungs were going to burst. i blame a little of it on my asthma, but i know im just out of shape. pretty much the only exercise i get is walking different places around my house. or from a parking lot to a store. i have a heavy bag and a pull up bar in my garage that were pretty dusty that ive started using the past few days but i get tired quick and give up.

i have the endurance of a quadraplegic, less flexible than my 76 year old gramma, and weaker than my 14 month old cousin. What can i do to start getting in shape better? I start a weight training class in about 2 weeks, and id like to not be a total pig when i start. but its also only gonna be about 1.5 hours twice a week, so its not gonna be enough (better than im doing now, but not as much as i want).

basically, i just want an idiots guide to getting in shape. there isnt an area i cant improve in.

just drove the route and it was a little shy of 4 miles. i never thought i would be able to run that. took mabye 45-50 minutes. but i stopped at ampm and had half a bottle of water (and picked up a job application when i drove the route) and i stopped and walked a few times too. damn though, i still feel really good.

See man, it seems that all you really need to do is build up your stamina. Just go jogging for distance, not time and you will build it up quickly. 4 miles eh? Did you take any breaks at all cause I have asthma and after mile 1 I am way out of breath and need to stop for a couple minutes.

i took a break half way through when i got my water but i walked still. i never "stopped" except while i was paying for my drink.

i think i said i had my inhaler, took a puff probably 3 times the first half, then one more on the way home.

dude, i saw this video about "freerunning" where people just run and jump over shit and do cool tricks and climb up walls all fast n shit!

just keep at it.. run 4 miles a day if you can, and hit the gym up every other day at the least. eventually, when you break your body in, in will all be routine. when i started i was sore as fuck for the first week, now i feel great, way better than before i started working out/ running and all that stuff. try to eat right also.. stay away from that greasy fast food, that will hurt your performance as well.

i dont wanna go to the gym on base because its all retarded har heads and ill be in there benching just the bar and feel all self concious n shit.
