Major League Baseball 05-06
Alright... Since pitchers & cathcers are reporting I can't wait any longer for Mr.A-man to start a new thread. :w00t
Who's your team, and what are your predictions, etc.
For me...
Dodgers. Since last season we no longer have guys like: Green, Nomo, Lima, Cora, & Beltre on our roster. Now we got peeps like Kent on our team. I'm thinking both San Diego & San Francisco both upgraded and maybe even Arizona. So I could see us ending up anywhere between 1st - 4th. It's gonna be a crazy season.

LOL damn you beat me to the punch.
this should be an interesting year especially for my giants. the obvious one is how bonds will play after all the steroid stuff. if he produces like he's been doing all of his career, the giants should be fine. but also how is alou and vizquel gonna fit in the lineup. also how will benetiz fit in the closers role in SF. i like the giants chances in the west division but who knows, maybe arizona will be a surprising team (i doubt it but who knows). i cant wait til the season starts though. it should be fun.

I hear certain peeps on ESPN radio and such saying that the Giants are old. Other then that I think you guys are the odss on favs going into the season...
I'm kinda curious to see how Cleveland is going to do. Ditto for the Marlins & Mets.

When Randy and Schilling face off, the stadium ought to be rockin'! :clap
Now that the Sox got one on the Yanks, let the true rivaly begin.

 indeed...gonna be awesome
but yea, there are some teams out there this year that I think could be some sleepers...I know everyone always talks bout the Sox/Yanks, but we got the O's right on our asses ready for us to beat the living piss out of each other while they sneak up to the top
I'm still pulling for the Sox tho

yea i wouldn't worry about the orioles. they have all the offense in the world but no pitching to back it up. they got the fat, choking, sorry sidney ponson. so don't worry.

yea, forgot that they like to load up on lots and lots of offense but forget that they have these guys that they kinda need to throw the ball to the plate

With a name like "sidney" you know you ain't getting a guy that can throw 95+ for 100+ pithces.
Maybe he stay away from fighting on the beach this time around.

my team is the the california los angeles angels of anaheim. outside of the team change distractions, i expect them to contend for the west title once again. troy glaus is gone but dallas mcpherson should hold his own if he learns how to hit off speed pitches. troy percival is gone too but k-rod will more than fill his shoes.

supposedly pudge came in like 20 lbs lighter so theres been talk about whether he got off the juice or what not.
on another note, the red sox don't seem to know how to handle winning. taking shots at a-rod for 6 straight days? kinda weak especially from millar who just last year was dying to have a rod as a teammate over nomar.

my nl team is the giants!!
with the biggest problem last year, closer, solved now with benetiz, and dodgers doing worst, i fully expect them to take the divison. marlins will take the east and cards will take the central. cubs, braves, mets will battle it out for the wild card.
the problem with the giants is age, if schimt goes down to injury (again) and bonds finally show his age, the team will be in shambles.
al team is the yankees.
as long as they can stay healthy, randy johnson can get 20+ wins. giambi will rebound a bit, not to his mvp status, but at least bat .275, 20 hr, 100rbi. kevin brown and jaret wright wil tank.
yankee wins east, twins win central, angels wins west. redsox wins wild card.
yankees vs giants 05 world series!!!

^ any word about Foppert? Isn't he kinda dinged up but the G's are counting on him?
BTW: What do you Giant's fans think of the new logo? At first glance I couldn't tell if it was a lower or upper case "G".

he had tommy john surgery back in late 03 to repair a tendon in the pitching arm, so even if he comes back, he is most likely a bullpen relief pitcher. last i heard he was in tripleA fresno. if he do get back, he will duke it out with noah lowry and brad hennessey for the number 5 starter job, and im pretty sure noah lowry already got the spot locked down with a near perfect season last year.
as for the logo, im didnt even know they changed it, then again, i dont even pay that much attention to it.
