So, let the talks begin:

Who's gonna go where as free agents?

Who's gonna get traded this offseason?

Who's gonna win what awards?

I think Matasuka will of course, end up with the Yankees, of course. Soriano, no clue, I think pretty much the only move the Sox will make will be for Lugo which will be stupid cuz Gonzo may not be able to hit as well, he has a better glove. So much to be done...I just love the hot stove.

On a side note, Shiba, you see that Drew's gone from LA? Maybe if Coco gets traded we'll take a look at him

Kevin Brown, Chan Ho Park, etc. the Dodgers don't exactly have a good track record w/ this man and the people he represents.

I think Drew wants to see if he can make more loot with another team. I don't see that happening tho, he had a pretty hefty contract (I think 3/$33?) and in these times I don't see him gettin that anywhere else

Supposedly he gave his word to our GM that he wouldn't use that option. That's why Ned came out with that biting comment of (paraphrase): "I know JD is a man of religion and his word, I guess he changed his word."

Remember when he had probs w/ Philadelphia?

He finally played hard and w/ minor injuries this past season which had always been the fault his detractors would point at. It makes you wonder if he only sacked up since it became in fact a contract year for him. Hmmm...

Also there's rumors that he wants to play ball with his brother. I guess I couldn't really blame him for that to some degree.

You know they won't sign him... it was just to block the Yankees from gettng the chance to sign him. I guess the Mets ended up 2nd in the bidding.

lol ya he's Drew's agent too. I have a feeling we're gonna end up gettin both those guys at a hefty price.

Sounds like after bidding/contract its gonna be about a total of $100 mil

I don't know if you guys are "one player away" from contending w/ the Yanks. Not like when the trade for Schilling went down and he was considered the final piece of the puzzle.

Plus are Man-Ram, and David Ortiz healed up and healthy?

I dunno if I'd be dropping all of that cash onto a single (non-everyday) player right now. But then again if you guys can't sign him at least you don't have to pay anything out.

We've got a lot of questions too, but at least the Dodgers got a chance to play a lot of youngsters for long periods of time last year; so there are some ideas of what we got in the farm system.

As far as I kno, Papi and Manny are good to go from what I've heard. Shelling out all that money for Matz and possibly Drew are gonna be quite the costly investment I agree. As for our other guys, a lot of em took a beating healthwise so we'll see how that pans out.

Any hot stove rumors with the boys in blue? Haven't really heard much other than the fact that Piazza may be returning. Is this true?
