NBA 07-08 Season.
New season starts today!
Predictions?
West: Spurs, Suns, Dallas, or maybe even the Rockets?
East: Celtics, D-Town, or how about the Heat making it back or even the Bulls if they can get Kobe?
Woot!

Oh Noes! A new NBA Thread! I'm still amazed I started that other one in 2003!
C's are gonna be extremely exciting to watch. I can't wait. But it's time for me to watch the Rolling Rally on tv right now. (sox parade)

Duncan signed an extention w/ the Spurs. I believe that he signed for way less then what an in-house free agent could have asked for. Especially considering how the salary cap will increase in future years.
Hmmm... novel idea. Taking a decent amount (but not the max. you could have asked for) to keep a team together.

Darko M. going off on the refs. in a game vs. Greece.
I'd heard about this rant but hadn't seen/heard it until today. The guy went crazy for a minute I guess.

No. I saw them play... it's a short term hot streak. Byron Scott is one of my favorite players and I wish him well, but they won't be in their conference finals.

The Zen Master got an additional 2 years @ 12 million each to his contract.
I dunno... his detractors don't like his coaching because of:
1. His time out strategy (or lack there of.)
2. Rotation and substitution patterns.
3. Lack of team defense.
4. Lack of team toughness.
Oh well. He does have 9 rings, so he's got that going for him on the + side.
IMHO = Good coach, but this is highly over priced.

Carmelo got a flag. 2 against Sasha V. from the Lakers last night. Sasha claims he didn't say anything to him, 'Melo basically just went him out of the blue.
I wonder if they're gonna call it an "unnatural basketball move" like they did to Kobe last year and suspend 'Melo?

Look who you guys got with you in your Div. Spurs, Mavs, and everybody thought the Rockets would being doing better then the way they've started out the season.
That basically why I think the Hornets are gonna have a hard time even getting a 7th or 8th place in the Conference. If they were in the Pac. or NW they probably pick up a few more "cheap" wins to pad their win/loss record.
