Whats up fools how many peeps like the Oakland A's i hope they go to the world series this year. i thought that they would do it last year but didn't happen, even though i don't really like baseball, if the A's are in the playoffs i'll b watching.
yea...a's are pretty tite. i am a giants fan obviously if you read thread with barry bonds but i give a's much props. they're coming through this year. lidle has been doin really good for them. tejada and chavez picked up the slack when giambi left. the pitching is nasty. but again i will never ever go against the yankees until they are dethrowned. but yea..a's are really good.

how are they not? they got the best pitching in the game..that three headed monster of mulder, zito and hudson. lidle had that 32 inning scoreless streak. they have timely hitting. tejada is an mvp candidate. eric chavez is really good and they got an excellent bullpen. if you have pitching then you have a chance at the world series (atlanta braves). many experts say the a's are the team to beat in the american league. i really do not root for the a's but give credit where credit is due.

Um, actually...yeah. That's why the the Yankees have been there 4 out of the last 5 or whatever it is...and Oakland hasn't. A's might be streaking now...but if they can't get a streak going during the postseason, who cares. It's all about the playoffs, and I think the Yanks, 100mil roster or not, have proven that they are World Series material year in and year out because they get to the post season and win consistently. The A's on the other hand, have not. And no, I'm not a Yankees fan, I actually don't like them at all...but for the purpose of this thread, I gotta take their side because Oakland hasn't proven they can win when it really counts. That is what makes a champion...not regular season winning streaks over subpar & average teams with an occasional playoff contender thrown in the mix. But we'll see come October. As the saying goes, that's why they play the game. :

but we are talking about TALENT wise and Oakland sure does have the talent to win the series... their pitching is way more consistent, if not better, and their offense is just as good as the YANKS...
beyond the humor, they are an unstoppable force. Everyone I talk to is amazed at how a young team with a lower than normal salary cap can do this good. They have one of the best minor league organizations that bring the fresh new rookie all stars to the league. GO A'S!

Originally posted by Bones The A's winning streak is a bit misleading. They played almost all teams with losing records during that streak.
And for the record, the A's record against winning teams is 71%....the Yankees is 89%.
so that would mean, since they have identical records, that the YANKEES lose more to losing teams then... uh, i think i would rather lose to a .500 plus team than a below .500 team...
Gotta feel fo the A's.... After beating up the AL Central have-nots with 20 wins in a row, they are heading into the seriers toinight against the halos down by one game. Should be a good series, but all for not, coz when the playoffs start, it will be all Yankees!
