type-r Getting a TSX, Need info.

Im getting back from the old Iraq next February and I plan on trading my 2000 si in on a TSX. Im wanting a red one in a 6 speed. What other big options are there? I have the accessories catalog but what are the base options?

Like Hondas, Acuras don't really have options for the most part. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I bet transmission and the navigation system are the only options.

oh ok, iv owned four hondas, all bought used and never had an acura. i could care less about navigation, thats just money wasted, i can read a map. i like the factory performance stuff, like the 5 spoke wheels and all but im thinking bronze 18's on the red paint will be the beautifullness.

You're absolutely right, those are the only options. There are accessories as well, like the A-Spec suspension kit, Ground effects, fog lights, all-season floor mats, trunk tray, cargo net, etc, but you'll find different prices on those depending on which dealership you go to.

2000redCIVICsi: You will love the TSX with the 6MT. It has plenty of torque for a N/A 4 cylinder and is a lot more luxurious than a civic, which is also what I came from. My only suggestion is to "order" the exact car that you want a couple of months before hand. The 6MTs are rare, the 6MT+Navi even more rare. 6MT with any color other than Carbon Grey is even more rare. 6MT with Red exterior and Black Interior is extremely rare (most are parchment interior with red exterior).

if you don't hit OK, the map goes away and doesn't talk to you. The only time it will talk to you is if you are using it to give you directions to somewhere.

odds are the a-spec suspension will add more to the cost than the navi. if you really want all that, especially from the factory, IMO pay a thousand or so more and get a tl 6-spd.

color combos, i really like the red. i dont like having my black interior, but that's cause of TX heat. I think if i did it again, I'd do white and beige.

as far as options go, foglights are standard on all '06s. That really leaves spoiler, navigation, and tint as your main exterior options. I like my lip spoiler alot, as it sits flush and there isnt a gap between it and the trunk. simple and tasteful if ya know what i mean (think it is the same as the new rsx type-s spoiler). you can upgrade the rims, but 2k dealership prices are really a ripoff. Interior options are limited as well- you can upgrade to a woodgrain interior from the silver metal looking one, but in a red car thats up to you as a matter of personal preference. looks really nice on white though. Also, you can add an mp3 cd headunit, but again, i think it is a waste of money especially since it costs more and you lose the 6 disc in dash. Just use the audio in jack, burn regular cds, and listen to the xm.

TL is quite a bit more than just 1K additional of the TSX.

I was referring to the TSX with all the options and of course the overpriced a-spec package.

You are better off skipping the factory accesories and going for something like this instead for the factory accessory prices.

And here is what your car will look like red with bronze rims. Good choice
