Unhappy I guess no turbo for next gen TSX...

I found this at vtec.net here I was really hoping they would give the new TSX some boost, oh well. In case some of you are too lazy to click ill post it up...

Turbo or Not for next gen TSX?

Credibility Rating: 6

I bumped into some folks at the Petit Lemans (Road Atlanta) over the weekend and I heard an interesting rumor regarding the drivetrain for the upcoming TSX replacement. In short, these people indicated that the prevailing rumors about the TSX getting the SH-AWD system are solid but the rumors of the turbocharged motor are off base, and in fact it would NOT be fitted with a turbocharged motor. Unfortunately there wasn't any clear indication of what the TSX will be getting under the hood and the source was unable to confirm any sort of timeframe for the car's introduction.

Speculatively speaking, unless Acura can miraculously keep the TSX's weight below 3200lbs or so, I would say it would be a gigantic mistake to offer an SH-AWD TSX with anything but a potent V6.

So this is just another tiny datapoint to add to the pile, but it's our duty to report any developments.

It's still an unsubstanciated rumor at this point whether it will be turboed or not, and whether or not it will remain an I4 or come with a V6. Just because it's on TOV doesn't mean it's the gospel yet.

I can live with or without a turbo. But I'd trade my TSX in heartbeat for a SH-AWD system. I would never drool over the EVO again. You can always find away to get power from Honda engines.

Thanks for the info, rumor or not.
