Would you trade your TSX in for a '07 Mustang??
I own a 2004 TSX and it crossed my mind to go look at the the 2007 Mustang. Would anybody here consider owning a Mustang GT??

NO! mustangs are okay but i would NEVER trade my TSX for one. ( i have a 06 TSx) If i trade my TSX it'd be for a G35 coupe or a BMW 3 series. If you looking for something to play around in the i guess its aight.
I have two friends who have 06's mustangs. One guys alternator went bad and they also had to replace his gas tank. He would fill up and burn all the gas in two days . The other lady shes had hers is the shop for nermous things. I dont remember what but i all our conversation consisted of was her bitching about the service and how they didn't even have loaner cars. Dont get me wrong. There are quick cars...but that would be the only reason id get one.

i'm considering trading up my lease towards financing a used s2000...
mustang? why?
my reasons for the trade is because i want to stay in the honda (jdm) family and my wife and i don't really use it too much, let alone have more than the 2 of us in the car... plus she is getting a brand new civic sedan (all expenses PAID) from her company... and my car already has more than 300,000 miles...
i want something for me now...
but then we went over our bills, and i had to cry myself to sleep knowing it will take a while to get it...

Fucker Only Runs Downhill? No thanks! While newer mustangs do look great, they still can't match the looks of the TSX, not to mention the fit & finish, finesse, sport luxury, creature comforts, etc. Also, I don't know how much snow you typically get in NYC, but here in Colorado, rear wheel drive is only good for one thing: Summer. The only thing I'd trade my TSX in for at this point with roughly the same price range would be something with AWD that has everything else the TSX has - So that pretty much leaves me with the non-awe inspiring (to me personally anyway) RDX. And I'd have to give up my 6MT which would blow, althought 5AT in our Pilot isn't bad.

what about a used legacy gt, or impreza wrx?
i looked into those and can find them below $20,000 with low miles...

I would never trade my TSX for a stang, or any domestic for that matter. I would trade it in for an RDX or Ridgeline, lately ive been biking and hiking and im tired of using my dads truck. But thats just my personal preference.

the RDX is sweet man. nice power and handling for a suv. I had the pleasure to drive one for a week. Of course i burned alot of gas playing around in it. I was tempted to trade for it until i got my car back

driving-wise, my thoughts are as follows:
a mustang is like a sledgehammer to the tsx which is like a scalpel...
sorry... like a ginsu knife...
the s2000 is like a scalpel...

Their boxer engines are too loud IMO, and they just don't have the quality or options I'm interested in at this point in my life.

that's interesting...
with the impreza, i can agree...
but the legacy seemed more mature and subdued...
yes, it doesn't have that same "precision" feel as the our tsxs, nor the same feeling of sophistication, but for about the same price, with a little more power (at the cost of a lot of fuel) and awd, i thought it would have been a good alternative...
ultimately, it's the comparatively thirstier fuel consumption that made me pass on it...

Maybe its the ole "grass is greener on the other side" thing. or I want to know what american power feels like. (don't mention the PT Cruiser) I've owned mostly Hondas my whole life and I have an itch for muscle. My TSX will never see Mustang numbers and 300hp from a FWD will be able to proper use.
A $28,000 TSX with I/H/E will give me what, maybe 245hp. And a $28,000 Mustang with I/H/E will give me 325hp. Power is power. There are ways to make the Mustang handle better. IMO.
The S2000 is a great platform, but I don't want another used car to be able to afford one. And the G35, BMW and RDX are out of my price range too.
I'll miss the heated seats and the lovely truck space, though.

Like someone allready mentioned, if it was me i would trade for a G35!!! those things are comfortable and pretty fast probly bout the same as a Mustang. You would pull more bitches in a G35 than a Mustang.

I cross shopped the LGT when I was looking at the TSX, and a few things swayed me towards the TSX besides fit and finish, luxury, looks.
One is brand name - Acura is just plain more prestigious than Subaru, and it rolls of the tongue better too.
One was the Acura Nav system being one of the best on the market
One was side mirror turn signals
One was HIDs
It was tough not going for the AWD, but I've driven FWD all my life, so it never bothered me. This year's snow storms have been brutal to Colorado (6 storms in 6 weeks, 60+ inches in the city alone) and the shitty stock Michelins added to no LSD have really made me think about my priorities in trying to get to work and back.
That's not to say that the LGT isn't a good car, because it is, and I thought about it long and hard, but I just couldn't buy something that didn't quite move me the way the TSX did, and still does.

245hp out a I/H/E with a TSX? I don't think so. My 06 TSX puts down at least 15whp more than your 04 because of changes made between 05 and 06. I/H/E will put you right where I'm at stock. There are guys running 280whp in there TSX over at TSXCLUB. Of course they supercharged it with a few more mods but its pretty damn impressive for a TSX.
Your comparing apples and oranges here. Luxury car and sports car. A TSX and Mustang aren't EVER compared. Find a magazine or article that considers them in the same category and let me know.
If your looking for American muscle then a Mustang is the way to go. Might even want to consider a SRT-4. They are about 8-10 grand if not more cheaper, easy to upgrade and with a stage 3 mopar upgrade will smoke a mustang. (which is also covered under warranty)
A brand new Mustang GT is going to run you 26k(msrp). you might get it a few grand cheaper or right at msrp since Ford is desperate t | |
