B18C GSR swap into 6th gen ex

hey there guys, so I've read every swap thread and guide on the internet in my research about this. The deal is i have a 97 ex coupe "EJ8" and just bought a 95 JDM GSR B18C with a 94 LS trans, with a tuned P28 ecu. The motor came with the correct harness. My grey area i've come to is with the harness connecting to the ECU.

On 5th gen civics and most integras the harness splits at the passenger strut tower into three bulk connectors. I have the a DC4 teggy shell as a donor with that harness section as well as a 95 ex coupe "EJ1"

Now my 6th gen D16Y8 harness doesn't split like the older ones, it just goes straight to the ECU. Unless i'm that blind. But i've pulled the motor before and had to fish the harness out of the firewall previously.

With these differences i'm wondering how to go about hooking the B series up in my 6th gen, when in every write up specific to 6th gen B series swaps only every talks about VTEC wiring and such, nothing about the lack of harness to go into the cabin.

If anyone can clear this up or tell me what pieces to use that'd be great, thanks ahead of time!

Well, when I did my brother's 96' Civic DX hatch using the same year JDM GSR from HMO, we didn't have any problems at all using his one piece engine harness. His ran through the firewall as well and plugs into the ECU.

What I would do is just re-use your old engine harness from your EJ8 and use it on your B18C. Then just do the rest; de-pin and re-pin some of the wires and extend some. The 6th Gen Civics goes through the firewall while the 5th Gen's don't and splits by the shock tower. Just don't let that bother you as your 6th Gen engine harness will work as the same.
