b20 questions
I've been researching swaps for a while, and I still have a couple of questions regarding swapping a 2001 usdm b20 into a 96 civic ex:
1) If I use a 99-00 si header or aftermarket equivalent, will it fit with the 1996 ex cat without modification? I was thinking length should fit, but maybe the flange would be different.
2) If I use a hydro gsr tranny, does the clutch I get need to match the b20 engine or gsr tranny? I take it the b20 and b18b are similar, so could you also get the clutch to be compatible with the b18b?
thanks guys.

Any B series hydro tranny should bolt up to any B series engine.
As for the exhaust, good luck.
Its a matter of getting measurements and then decideing what you need. Exhaust sizes can be kinda a pain, I know it was when I did mine, just do some research on pipe sizes and decide how to best approach that.

the clutch kit will need to be for the trans. good luck with your swap.
i liked my b20b in my da auto& am looking forward to (in the process of) throwing it in my 5 spd car. you should dig it with the gsr trans too, i'm kinda jealous.

Just make sure it's a b20z and not a b20b, otherwise you'll be dissapointed. B20B coupled with a GSR tranny would be unbearable.

fixed.
but my original question stands.. why would it suck to have a close-ratio trans (say cable ys1) with my b20b?
for now i'm throwing an exedy kit & turned stock flywheel @ the ls trans in case i decide to keep & boost her, but i've thought about it (the ys1 that is)..

dynamat=heavy. hondas = no torque
honda+dynamat=losing 3 tenths of a 2nd off of your 1/4 mile
