yeah that sucks, oh well. but for just the auto down, is it only the switch? and i have a coupe, so i only need to worry bout the front windows.

If you look at the harness for the passenger side compared to the drivers side, there are a few more wires. It really has nothing to do with a more powerful motor or anything like that, all that the auto down does is 'trick' the motor into sticking down for a period of time. If you were able to get the mechanism from the drivers side onto the passenger side then it would work easy.

I thought the motor had a "memory" type unit that knew when to stop, but I could be wrong. Normally a switch has no idea when to stop a motor, its either on, off, of full. But cant see it saying ok stop, I would think that would be a motor?

yeah, but im pretty sure there is just one motor for the coupe and there is 3 options on the auto switch. up for up, down for down, and all the way down for auto down. so it seems like it could just be a switch????????

I have some knowlege in switches and I have never seen one that had a memory capability that did that type of option...the only true way is to take both doors apart and look, if its a motor I am sure Honda sells em or look only or maybe a junk yard.

hell, I don't care either way. I'm gonna figure it out dammit. I'm bidding on the stupid driver's and passenger's switches on eBay and hopefully I'll win so I can rip them apart and figure out how to get it in there.
That is after a visit to my friendly neighborhood honda dealership's parts counter for a looksi in their parts manuals at the wiring
I'm gonna get the bitch to work one way or the other mainly because I know in the long run it'll:
(A): add one more feature to my car for resale if I decide to do that
(B): increase the "wow" factor another notch
(C): be something absolutely no other civic owner has since apparently nobody knows how to do this that is haha...
hell, I've already got everyone in my area oogling at my integra cluster and spare tire stuffed up in the back left corner under the (that's sad that they get wide-eyed at that . Once, I get my s2000 seats in there and everything redone in leather, plus the 96-98 factory foglights, and this ( if I can pull it off). I'll be a happy man and only need one more thing to finish off my interior.

i am not sure but i dont think that the motor has a "memory" it maybe a squat swith that is depressed by the bottom of the window when it reached that bottom of its travel. Well thats how hydraulic motor knows to stop when the landing gear is down on a plane.

yea if that is a "squat" located on the motor assembly, not on the switch. Switch can only send a signal or complete a circuit i dont think it can listen for a signal.
Like i said i am not 100% sure, but there is something located on the motor that says ok hold on time to stop, or hell could be a combination of things.
