Question Help...need advise on muffler replacement??

Hey guyz, I need to replace a muffler on my 2000 2DR Civic EX and I have a few questions.

1) Should i get a genuine honda muffler or an after market one?

2) Which website is the best place to get the muffler?

3) Is there any other parts besides the muffler itself that i need to complete this replacement??

4) This will be my first time replacing a muffler. Is there any website that shows step by step replacements? Or better yet, what are your advise?

Thanks!!

Depends what you want, budget, and resources.

If you got a welder you can try to diy or just take it to a shop and they'll do it for around $30. If you want to replace entire system just get a magnaflow and replace the stock piping to 2-1/4'' should be about $200 +up

From your situation I'd reomend a magnaflow straight trough muffler. You can get them cheap off ebay or any preformance shop should carry them.

depends on the sound and hp you want really. as far as sound goes, i'm a fan of the apexi ws2 exhaust, but that's around 500 bucks. look around youtube for videos of different exhausts and try to figure out what sounds good to you. also, i'd look into a high-flow cat. it's still legal and you can see around a 5hp gain from it, depending on your setup.
