my aunt bought an 87 civic gl back in 1987 and i got it as a hand-me-down as my first car for $1 (also because it sat in a garage for 5 years and didnt run at all)
it had an D15A1 (12 valve carb) engine which belongs to Honda CRX DX 1988-1991

though it never had an engine swap, its carb, and she bought it from the dealer when they first came out with the model....

not to mention it was more powerful then the D15A2 which was an SOHC 8 valve carb'd engine

D15A1 > 83hp@6000rpm 87tq@3500rpm
D15A2 > 76hp@6000rpm 84tq@3500rpm

i know, totally useless babble, but i thought it was interesting

oh PS: i put $380 into it to rebuild the carb on it, and put a shitload of elbow grease into it which lasted most of my summer but i got it purring as if it was new
