More horses on a stock d16
Wanting to get more hp...
I have an aem short ram intake, NGK iridium spark plugs (i know doesnt add hp),
and the rest is stock.
What will help...
new intake manifold? new header? throttlebody? ecu?
I cant afford a turbo or much less know how the hell to install a turbo kit, and i really cant afford an engine swap.

D-series engines are TURDS.
You can add I/H/E/C blinker fluid, and as many kanooter valves as you want and you'll be lucky to even get CLOSE to 10hp. This question is asked about as much as guys ask girls at the bar if they want to come home w/ them.
I made a pretty decent write up under the D-series section (which is where should should be posted anyway) about getting more power out of our D16's.
Check it out.

how many people are going to ask about turboing a d series???
At least be more specific, this gets pretty redundant...

Your best bet is to either save for a turbo kit or an engine swap. But you should definetly put in headers and an exhaust. Do some research on the intake manifold & throttle body to see if they are worth the money. You could do camshafts.

nah, dont mess with header... his stock is fine till he decides on turbo or another engine.
make ur own intake and get a bolt on exhaust and save up for w/e.

x2...Throw cams in that recipe and a nice tune and it still wont be much more than that. People dont realize how much money goes into N/A apps. It is understandable if you want a quick, fun car, and not a little monster.

I/H/E/C does include a cam. That's what that last part is.
In all reality, a d-series motor isn't a cost-efficient way to go. Save up your pennies and do your project right. Figure out what you want, then focus on putting together the money for it, not the other way around.

boost it. it' the easiest most reliable way to make power with a d-series and cheaper than a swap
