also did a DIY to convert my clock to the "JDM amber". cost me about $1.50 to do it too!
i also finally waxed my car down. used the Meguiar's NXT tech wax this time, instead of the Gold Class that i always use, i think the Gold Class is getting tossed in the trash (or at least donated to someone else!) now that i've seen what the NXT can do. it almost gives my paint a kandy color like sheen to it, it's really unbelievable! problem is that it really shows the difference between the factory paint, and the still un-clear-coated black parts. oh well

map lights you say?? Tell me more! Thats something Ive wanted for a while.
Also, I think Im gonna redo my door panels with suede. They are tweed now, but I need the humpingly gloriousness that is suede.

dude, you should do the door panels and the headliner all in suede. that would be pimptastic!
about the maplights, i'm actually surprised that you haven't done this one yourself, cause it's easy as shit. just grab a maplight that you like, then look at the wiring terminals and figure out how to run the wires.
if you're wondering how to cut the headliner, i just used a box knife.

well, you said it snapped in. Id rather make sure I know what Im doing before I cut a hole in my headliner.
I was only going to redo the inserts. No headliner, stuff isnt cheap.

here's a pic i snapped about an hour ago:
it didn't actually "snap" in, that's just the best description i can think of. the hole is just big enough for the lamp to sit in the headliner securely, there's no need for mounting screws. as long as you cut the hole smaller than the lamp itself, you'll be okay.
after thinking about it again, i think the hardest part was actually trying to figure out how to ground the damn thing. the DC2 map light is grounded through the mounting screws, and since i didn't use those, i had to come up with a way to get around that. what i ended up doing was using some male end spade connectors and running both of the grounds (one on each side) to the sun visor mounting screw. that part was a bit complicated, cause i had to fabricate a mounting plate for the ground itself, but all that involved was me cutting in half a speaker mount (one of those stupid little tin things you get when you buy aftermarket speakers) and threading that on the mounting screw above the end connector i used for the ground.

Aha. I like it. I'm painting my EG Silverstone Metallic. Little lighter than yours. But looking at yor car gives me a good idea of how mines gona turn out with the Mugen lip kit and c/f hood. Cept I got a 4pc lip kit, not just the front. I'm getting anxious... should be done real soon! :clap
