'nother update:
well it looks like that part i got off eBay won't be coming in any time soon. the seller e-mailed me again today, and it turns out that there was a huge screw up in the shipping quote. the amount i paid for shipping is supposedly about $50 short of what it will actually cost to ship the item, and so the seller still hasn't shipped. believe me when i say that i will fight this until the bitter end, and that i'm not letting her get away with this that easily.
in other news, i'm going to try and get my rear disc brakes put on within the next couple months. all i need now is the e-brake cables, a set of stainless lines (gonna do all four, will probably keep the DX front brakes for the time being), and of course, new pads and rotors. the only problem is that the damn caliper bolts are on so tight, that i rounded off the heads while trying to remove them. gonna be hitting the pick n' pull early today (if i wake up early enough that is!) to see what i can scrounge up.

since you are doing this (youd figure I would too...hehehe.)
If you get the disc's off another sedan, do you need that prop valve??
Or, no? The one Im looking at is an LX (but would it matter if they came off an ex?)
Ive heard both sides, yes, and no.
I just want rear discs, they look so sessi.

actually the ones i have came off a DA6 integra. i picked up the master cylinder while i was at it, but i was in such a rush (had 30 minutes before the yard closed!) that i just cut the lines and cables. i think i do need to go back and get the booster, cause i recall reading something about the integra MCs not fitting well with the DX civic boosters, but i'm not certain about that. from what i understand, you do need to get the proportioning valve since your car is also a DX. the master cylinder and proportioning valve that we have is too small, and not proportioned correctly for rear discs. under normal driving, it won't be an issue, but under hard braking the DX master could cause the rear discs to lock up. try doing this while you're in a turn!
the thing about the brakes you're looking at, they'll be the exact same size as the ones on an EX, but i think only the EX had ABS. you might want to pick up the fronts while you're at it, just to do the entire swap all at once. i believe the front rotors are 10.2", and the back ones are 9.2", which coincidently, is the same dimensions as the integra brakes (hope my HX rims will fit over the rear calipers!).
a question that i have though, actually concerns the proportioning valve. is the valve part of the master cylinder assembly, or is it inside the booster? i've looked at many different pictures, andi can't seem to figure that part out.

i looked up the parts and they are all the same for the prop valve. if you keep your stock fronts and add rears, i dont belive the prop needs to be swapped.
but yes, the MC does because the dx is too small.
edit; im logged in as brad.....hmm....time to cause mischief....

lol! i was wondering why he was posting in this thread!
so the proportioning valve is a seperate piece from the master cylinder assembly i'm assuming? what does it look like?

Its that piece that has all the hardlines coming in and going out of it. Sitting on the firewall right behind your IM, and to the left of your booster/MC.
