no problem.
like said above a greddy kit or even a edlebrock kit(which would put you slightly over $4000 for the total swap/turbo combo) are strictly bolt-on turbo kits that come pre-tuned and there is no need to do anything else.
And the edlebrock kit would put a D16 at 175hp and around 150 tq all to the wheels which would = a good mid 13 second car

i am contemplating doing the install myself at this point (only if it was a straight swap - if it involved a turbo no way could i do it).
so the b18c is looking good.... all i have to do is the straight swap... i have a friend come over and rent an engine lift. friend has tools. thinking it might take a weekend.
i think a turbo is cool, but as i've said before, its just more parts that can (not will) break. considering either i am going to install it or some ghetto shop, i wouldn't trust them. if i had a great performance shop out here, i wouldn't hesitate to do your idea d16 and turbo, honestly. that sounds like it would fit the bill, pricewise.
i might need to get one of your guys (who is technically inclined) phone numbers for the weekend i'm going to do the install - so i can call if i have any questions while i'm doing the install, LoL....
or do you think this is really too much for me to chew?
side note: a lot of places have the b18b at the same price as the d16.... would the b18b not be a monster with a turbo?

Now your talkin, the B18B is a monster with a turbo. The bottom end is good past 250whp and the long gearing makes it a blast to have.
I really think you will have no problems with the swap,if you have ever taken something apart and put it back together an not had problems with that then I'd say your good to go.
Look in the Hybrid Forum here on Superhonda, there should be a couple how to's and such on swaps
Get the B18C you will not be unhappy, they are great running lil engines but to let you know you do need to go ahead and put a cold air intake or short ram and a exhaust to get good response out of them. The B18C's love to breath and the more air they get they love and reward you with great throttle response.

are these struts decent or sh!t? keep in mind they'd be for a daily driver, not a track star...

or are these worth the premium?:

ok the best prices i have found were:
b16a2 for 2700 shipped (with axles, linkage, tranny, ecu, everything)
b18c1 for 3200 shipped (same as above, with everything)
from www.naganojapanese.com
that was the best i found around, and i emailed most of the big guys (soh fast, japaneseimport, password JDM, etc, etc..)
any of you guys know nagano? ever heard of them? are they good/bad/decent?
thanks...

crap, to add something else into the mix, i got a quote for a b18b engine for under $2,000 shipped.
i could get that, solve all my problems, and maybe get a turbo kit down the road. for insane power, eh?
anyone know who/where to find a turbo kit for the b18b? can the stock b18b tranny hold up to it? (low boost application). thanks!

... and not to keep talking to myself in this thread, but i found an H22 with axles and linkage for 2400 shipped from Total JDM.
http://www.totaljdm.com/index.cfm/fu...A%20G1_jdm.htm
what do you guys think? is an H22 too heavy for my car? too much more difficult of an install? or am i just getting too excited and should stick with a b18c1?

I say to a H22 swap, you will have to buy custom axels and custom mounts but if you do the install yourself I dont see it being to much over $3000 with that price on the engine/tranny/ECU
You would have a mid 13 second car that would pull like a damn mofo.
KILLING H22A MYTH #1 - Can We !PLEASE! Stop This Mad Sh!t Once 'n' For All??? here is a whole big ass thread on the swap, you have to keep in mind that the thread was a couple years ago and the prices for mounts/axels have come down

well, turboing the b18b is out for me... after doing some more research it is just too much a pain, and too much work for what i want to do and spend. i really just want a motor i can throw in and leave alone for the remainder of its life.
i guess right now the b18c just seems so much easier. my only dilemma now is whether the 10 horsepower and 10 ft/lb of torque difference between the b16a2 and the b18c1 are worth the premium? should i just shutup and get the b16a2? damn i wish i could ride in some cars fitted with these motors so i could at least get an idea of what its like.
i'm like a damn blind man trying to pick out art at a gallery...

yes that definitely quells the weight myth. but i read most of the thread and it does seem a more involved process with the swap.
now we'll just narrow it between the b16a2 (170 hp/112 torque) and the b18c1 (180 hp/129 torque). both are relatively cheap, and according to every resource i can find, a straight swap, save for 3 wires that are required to "turn on" the vtec...

The stock tranny can hold up to alot of power. They arent the weak point. Clutches, axles, the motors themselves, they will all fail before the tranny.
