Play in Gas pedal.

Hope all is well with everyone. So i just picked up a throttle body with a TPS and have to swap out the old one. I was wondering, while i'm already messing with the throttle, is there a way that i can adjust the accelerator? There is a lot of play in the pedal before it engages and my old 97 was not like that at all. Its a 99 Ex. Thanks in advance SHO!

look at your intake manifold where the cable bolts to the manifold, with a little bit of mechanical inclination youll figure it out

ok so i dont look like a total ass here.....see where the cable comes out of its sheathing and there are 2 nuts jammed up on the bracket? loosen them and pull the cable back until it is just barely tight NOT TIGHT leave a hint of slack, then tighten the jamb nuts you should be good to go, if not i know on some models there is an adjustment at the pedal as well, not sure about yours though, also make sure you routed the cable the right way when you put it back on, that will affect it too

and to add, adjust a lil bit at a time...I tightened mine 5 thousand times before I got it right. Basicaly adjusted it to where it would run at 5,000 rpm, adjusted a lil more than it was too loose. just be careful

yes be careful, watch the little throttle stop screw, make sure the piece that the cable is connected to NEVER LEAVES contact with the set screw, if it does you will get the 5k idle
