Inquiry
I have a 98 civic lx 4dr i would like to speed up a bit. Although I dont know what to get first for it. All i have in it right now is a cheap short ram intake. I would like to get the aem tru-power pulley and some headers but im not sure if its worth it, and if it is what to buy. I work at a shop but all of the mechanics there dont tune any of their cars. so i get very little help there. Although if i got the parts it would be no problem to do any of it. For 500-1000 whats the best starting point for my car, is what i really mean. Any imput would be appreciated. thanks

you really need to search. this question has been answered plenty of times. the 96-00 ex valve covers did not have vtec written on them, that was only on the older models. If you look on the back passenger's side of your engine you will see the following (vtec solenoid):
if you're car is stock you most likely will not notice vtec unlike the b-series engines. also you cannot put a not vtec valve cover on a vtec engine.

m3 style mirrors
i love the way m3 style mirrors look espcially with the led signal lights. i got a 94 civic and i see the plastic mock-offs of bmw for like $15 dollars a pair. are these any good, or is there a relaible brand i should check out, or should i just buy official m3 mirrors and mod it to fit?

Entry mods for '06 Civic LX
A quick disclaimer: I'm brand new to the forums and to the world of modding cars in general. As such, I know virtually nothing about anything to do with cars, so a lot of my questions will sound stupid, please bear with me...=P
Anyway, I just bought an '06 Civic LX Coupe (stick) and am loving it. However, when I can scrounge together the money, I'm thinking about having some fun messing with it and was wondering if anybody has advice on what parts I should think about putting on, what order, and how much I should be spending.
I do not race my car, but I do like to drive it aggressively for fun a lot of the time. I was thinking a short throw shifter, new headers, a CAI, and a catback system would be good places to start, but I have no idea whether they exist for the '06 LX Civic and if so, which ones I should be looking at and how much I should be looking to pay for each (incl. installation, since I won't be able to do it myself, though I do hope to watch and learn).
Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as well as ideas for other things I should do to my car. PMs are fine with me too if it wouldn't be appropriate to write things everyone else already knows on the public thread.
Oh, and one last thing... What kind of HP/Torque gains should I expect from each of the mods (obviously none from the shift kit)?
Thanks in advance!
