I heard a few guys on the webboard saying skunk stage 3 cams arent streetable at all , i need to know how many of u agree with this ? How many of you have stage 3 cams or know someone with stage 3 cams.. "I dont want to hear skunk2 says they are for race engines," but some technical insight.......
but someone who actually used these cams, and knows something

Regardless of what cams you do have...

I think that Skunk2 S3 are streetable, but you won't see any sufficient gains with them unless you've port and polished your head and done some valve work.

This girl I know has them in her GSR. The car's idle goes up and down between 750 and 1300 or so. That's how it idles cause of the cams.

damn! the idle varies that much?? what are the specs on those cams?? the lobe seperation must be unreal for the vaccum to fluctuate like that?? does she have an auto or stick?? well doesn't matter much what's her brakes like at a stand-still??

oh ya, what's the valve overlap on those compared to stock also?

"DOES"??? do you mean those???

it doesn't matter if they don't like it but when you increase valve lift and increase duration you will HAVE to increase lobe separation...

and being stage III cams I assume they've got some pretty hefty numbers across the board compared to stock which is probably why that girl is having idle problems...not to mention that the duration is creating one hell of a "lope" in the idle contributing to shakey idle too....

Well ill say i like the Z better. Its a little more "hardcore" and imo looks better. Im not a fan of the grill on the g35. But overall i like em both, i just prefer the Z, thats y i have one.

Sorry...I guess I didn't make myself clear. Its not an idle problem. The car when parked and in neutral (5spd) will idle down to around 750 or so and then idle back up to around 1100-1300 or so then back down and back up and so forth. Its not a problem, its just the way the are. That is idle for her. Her husband installed them into their GSR, and she races it at the track.

Its like having a hug cam in a V8. You know... "LUB LUB LUB LUB LUB".
