it would've been funny but the mivec in the 4g63t doesn't have variable cam lobes only the non-turbo mitsu's do. it's just variable valve timing and boost like nissan does. nice try though

Simply put - I can remove the PARTS OUT of the VTEC assembly - Notice how I REMOVE the parts? Now - I reassemble the car - I cannot SIMPLY THROW A SWITCH and turn it on. If I throw a switch to turn it off - it is DISABLED. Try to turn VTEC ON - after you removed the VTEC rockers - Viola! NOTHING HAPPENS. BECAUSE YOU REMOVED THE PARTS THAT MAKE IT WORK. Reguardless of how many parts are in the system you removed the functionality of it. You could remove the solenoid because IT IS NOT BEING USED and put on a block off plate for all it needs to be there.
Disabling somthing means it is ready to be used quickly. IE: turn it on with a switch or reconnect the wire to the solenoid. Removed makes it IMPOSSIBLE to activate the item without dismantling the head and reinstalling what was REMOVED.
Removing half or all the parts still presents the SAME result - a non-functioning system that requires major work to restore it's functionallity.
