Sparking problem!!?? help!!!

Well, i got in my car on friday afternoon about 1:00pm, first time that day, and i started it up and started to back up, and then it shut off. I was like ok wtf, tried to start it back up and it just keeps turning over. So i check the spark plugs and no spark. So i pull the dizzy cap off and still see nothing, so i check the current, on the plug that goes to it, and that has juice so i m confused as hell by now. I then fiddle with that little plastic peice behind the rotor, cause it was loose and it didnt seem right so i stuck it back up into place. I had my dad hold the cap on and i turned the key, and it started up, but it was like sputtering, so i turned it off. tightened the cap, and started it again. Seemed like it was running a little shitty at first but then once it warmed up a bit it seemed normal so i took it out for a spin around the street. Everything seemed good and all when i got back so i was gonna let it run for a little while longer then it shut off agian. So i fiddled with the dizzy more, and started it back up again. Ran for like 5 mins then shut off and it wont start again. Anybody else have this problem cause im confused like all hell. Please Help me out. Oh and by the way its a 91 civic dx hatch.

Sounds like you need to do more diagnostics. Got a multimeter? You are gonna need one if you are going to attempt to fix/diagnose yourself. I'd check the coil and ignitor first...

how do i check both of those? and if i cant get it started does that mean i am going to have to get it towed somewhere so they can look at it? Cause if it comes to that, i am just gonna wait til i get my z6 head put on.

you need the helms manual if you really intend to do this type of diagnosis on your car. www.helminc.com
