The Engine in the G2 integra your lookin at is B18A1 DOHC non-VTEC engine. With a compression ratio of 9:2:1 one of the fastest ways for big power is to go FI. They don't make a supercharger for the G2 Integra so that leaves Turbocharged induction.

great reply, but i'd like to add that the b18a can be a respectable (all) motor if built properly.. cams (i suggest 403s just from hearing so much good about them) & gears along with an upgraded valvetrain and the usual i/h/C/e will be a GOOD start. good luck with the g2 and as well as this board, check out www.g2ic.com if you haven't already (generation 2 integra club).

peace.

I have the Crower 403 cams, gears, fuel tuning stuff, and i/h/c/e with stock valvetrain in my G3 Integra (not much diff. in engine, +10hp stock over B18A). Yesterday I was dead even with a '96 Talon TSi (AWD turbo manual, 210hp) on the freeway, full tank, no passengers in either car, fair race. He didn't have anything on me at all, no BS, from 60mph to 105mph (bad, BAD ME!! ) we were dead even. If anything at all I pulled on him by maybe a couple feet, but he definitely didn't gain anything. He just had a look of disbelief. And that's on the freeway, where the Integra's lighter weight doesn't matter as much (although neither does the Talon's AWD at that speed). So yeah, all-motor B18 non-VTEC isn't pointless.

I also think it's not really right to point to the B18A's low compression and say "look, it's good for FI". Sure, it's better than a GS-R engine for FI out of the box, but Honda engines are not designed for turbo at all, and IMO are only worth doing turbo if you completely build up the engine. Why spend a bunch of money on a turbo and only be able to run 7psi with limited reliability?? Build it up and do it right if you want to go turbo.

anything can be fast

you want to start small you know. don't just slap a turbo in there and think you are the fastest car on the face of the planet. unless your happy with beating six cylinder mustangs. you need to build your whole around performance there isn't any one part or any few parts that will make you fly. whatever

well iw ould say all motor ls isn't that bad.. it's cheap and the power gains are pretty decent. the one good thing about the b18a and b18b is the more displacement.. it has more displacement than any of te b18's and b16's. since you are getting a older b18a i would suggest looking for a B18b head from a 94+ ls it's free 12hp at the flywheel.. i did the same exact thing to my gen 2 integra. it's a 1990 B18a on a 95 B18B head..

the B18B head wont do shit without the different fuel maps to accomidate for it....the cams are within 1 degree of each other the only difference is the flow and the IM, but without the more agressive fuel maps to accomidate for the flow the newer head will do nothing

Wut Joo Slackin Bruh?

The B18A1 and B18B1 are both 1834cc. The B18C1 and C5 are both 1797cc so in essence although he seems a little unclear is correct. Both of those motors do have a bit more displacement than the GSR and Type-R motors.
