2001 integra - antenna won't retract anymore

one day my antenna just stopped moving and i cant place it back inside.

when i turn off the radio I can hear it trying to retract but the actual antenna doesn't budge.

do i need to replace it? or is there a simple way to fix it?

thanks for all the help.

Its pretty common for integras. You can replace it with a new OEM one (you can find them on the forums for about $35) or you can buy a nice looking S2000 antenna.

The plastic "chain" inside the antenna is broken. It's kind of a bitch to only replace that chain. If I was in your position, I would do the S2000 antenna mod. Or you can find some thing called the Shark Attack antenna on eBay. I have one and it looks very nice, clean. I went with this becasue it cost about as much as an OEM antenna and looks so much better.

Whats everyone is talking about is the antenna mask. You basically have to open up the antenna model and pull the remaining part out if it has indeed broke.

I have the whole antenna setup ready to bolt in for $25 shipped if you want. It's a lot easier to just replace the whole thing. Or you can do the S2000 antenna conversion for not too much more $.
