It is kinda loud. It has a deep rumble sound. When it is ideling it is fairly quite, but when you open the throtte is gets loud. I am happy with mine. Good quailty and the angle looks real good. Not sure about the itr midpipe.

I have 5zigen fireball. Good exhaust, quiet unless you stomp on it. I have the catback though, what is the exhaust piping diameter for the border axleback and itr piping? You might want to check into what the piping diameter is.

IMO, it looks frikin sweet. It has good clearance from the bumper, and I dont scrape (lowered about 1 3/4"). It is a straight through muffler that angles about 30deg or so out to the right and up. the words "5ZIGEN" are etched into the slant cut tip. The canister and tip are both bright stainless steel, the rest of the piping is black and looks to be very high quality. I havent broken down and bought a digital camera yet, so I dont have pictures of it. I wish I could help you more. Sound quality is great too, NO RICY SOUNDS - I recommend it.

Im pretty sure the piping is 60mm ~ 2 3/8 in, I dont think there are any restrictions or pinch points that I could tell. Catback piping does have some sort of resonator I believe.

I like my setup quite a bit. I felt additional power from mid-range to top end with pretty much everything I did. When my GReddy SP catback's resonator went bad, I noticed a drop in top end performance. The 5ZIGEN at least felt like it at least made up for it. I have never put it on a dyno since I dont have easy access to one so I cant make any concrete claims. I bought a header, but I dont remember the brand or piping diameter! I want to do more research on this piece in particular before I go ahead and get my catalytic converter to complete my exhaust system. One interesting thing though, I noticed a good boost in throttle response, a smoother idle, a better engine tone quality, and better mpg from the complete ignition upgrade! Just make sure you have a complimentary engine package and a plan in mind before you buy anything. I am fearing the prospect of replacing aftermarket parts because they arent compatible with what Im trying to do. This stuff is too expensive to do it wrong the first time!

I'm pretty sure it will bolt right up. I've seen ITRs with just a 5zigen border axle back.

When I first read your post I was not paying much attention to what kinda of 5zigen you wanted. I have the fireball not the border. I have a friend who has the border and his exhaust sounds about the exact same as mine. But here is a pic of my exhaust.
