I buddy of my has a 96, he knows nothing about cars. It came with a AEM CAI so thats good. He is getting ready to smog and register in CA yet he changes the oil every 10K. HAHA So I put a list of a few things I would do to get alittle back from the car and make her happy. What are small boltons that make a differance. Heres my list
OE Cap/rotor
9mm wires
NGK plugs
UD pulley
Ground kit
New filter
New Fuel filter
Is there anything else you would consider. I did some searching and found MSD capsr aftermarket coils but not sure he wants to go that far. If I can get a better spark for him, clean up the fuel, and add the pulley he should see some nice gains.
I hear bad things about UD pulleys on honda's ... I'm really not sure but I see harmonic balancer mentioned with alot of those lighter UD pulleys. like they don't have them or something like that and it causes damage to the lower end of your motor. Might wanna research that a bit more just incase.
MSD ignition won't do anything for you unless you have FI or nitrous.
Just go with stock wires.
UD pulleys are indeed unreliable.
Ground kit is pretty much pointless.
I've got great news: I just saved you 15% or more on your car maintenance. Okay that was corny as hell but I'm here at work at a car insurance company so gimme a break, ok?

HAHA Right on. The pulley was huge on my 3000gt's but on my Accord I did intake and a few other things at the same time so I am not sure who gave me all the love in that car. HAHA The ground wires are only getting done because he has 3 from just my initial study that are coroded and barely there. Aftermarket wires and plugs might be overkill, but damn near the same price. Thanks for the feedback guys.
Even if the wires and plugs (just stick with stock plugs) are the same price, OEM has the best reliability and is all you will ever EVER need for N/A.
Edit: 5000th post.

I remember the debate but not the part about you winning... the fastest all-motor Honda in the world has a stock ignition. That's just about all there is to say until you start talking FI or nitrous, then it's worthwhile...
