i have a jdm b18c and the only true way to know is to look at the pistons inside to see if the have the stamp for itr pistons. an easy way to tell is to look at the intake manifold if it arches upward and looks like a sea shell = gsr. intake curved down= itr. as long as its not the aftermarket skunk2 manifold. redline dosen't matter cause your ecu could have a program written on it.

from the pic i would say you had a itr b/c of the intake manifold. if its jdm or not is another question b/c japan doesn't use vin #'s and if i'm not mistaken it looks like you engine has a vin #(kinda hard to see from pic). unfortunately the only was to verify this is if you crack open your engine and look for the stamp on the pistons.

I think you have it the other way around... IM curved up = ITR. Throttle body sits higher on the ITR and lower on the GS-R.
From the looks of it, appears to be an ITR... but like he said, could be a Skunk2 manifold on a GS-R.
So wait, you bought a swap not knowing what kind of engine it was?

Im fairly sure thats an ITR motor. The IM doesnt look like the GSR's sea shell IM. Plus the valve cover is red.
Also- JDM motors only say B18C. USDM motors say B18C1 or B18C5.

shouldn't JDM itr have SS 4-1 header stock? from the pic, looks like an ITR, but if you have the savvy, check the piston rods for the little "R" stamped onto em.

That's a good point, looks like any old stock USDM header.

No SS header on the JDM either. Its just a cast header like all other header's for the tegs. Just that it is a 4-1 and has a 2.5" collector.
The real wuestion is, did the header come with the engine? I agree it could be a smunk or imitation IM also. As well as the red valve cover since thats so easily swapped out.
I say look at the head casting as the ITR has a different head compared to the GSR.
