AC Revolution Intake?

0k, i've had my eye on the aem cold air intake for a while now, and im pretty sure thats what i want to get.

BUT.
i just looked at the AC Rev intake (which is a lot cheaper) on extremedimensions.com .. says it puts out more horsepower than any other intake?

is this true?
if it is.. then is there any problems that commonly go wrong with these intakes at all?
and would it be a good choice for my teggy ls engine?

thankzzzzzzzz.

my personal opinion is an intake is an intake. when you have a short ram vs. a short ram that is. you pretty much have polished piping and a k&n filter or something like a k&n filter.

that goes for the same as the cai. piping still goes under the fender with any cai you get. so i really can't see how someone can claim that they are getting more power out of their intake over someone else. unless the ac intake is using a different filter. foam vs k&n type filter. then i can see that but if they don't i can't see how theirs is better.

temp is everything when racing. colder it is the better. but the colder it is, it can also hurt you. remember that

Dude, you are all over with your opinions and theories about intakes and how they work and what gains they provide and which ones have benefits and and drawbacks respectively.

This topic has been covered MANY times and has the usual same ultimate answer.

Preference! Thats it...

There are documented dyno graphs supplied by the top competitors IE: AEM and Comptech, so saying that they are all the same is incorrect and Very misleading.

I will not go into the differences of them AGAIN and argue each and explain it Again. Unfortunately the site provided won't open it's second page for me so I'll tell you what I say to everyone:

"You get what you pay for."

Read deeper into this forum to research intakes "Short Ram AND CAI design."

Good luck,

A.

damn guy cool out.
lol buy urself a happy meal.

all i wanted to know is if anyone has this intake and how does it perform for them because i never heard of the name before.
its not like im asking "what is an intake" or "whats the best intake to buy".. im simply asking opinions on a particular intake.

geez.

integra dreamz.... if your planning to keep the intake for awhile..... spend the extra money and get the aem...

but if your tight on budget...
and the AC intake you saw has the same diameter piping as the aem (which i think is 2.5") then i cant see why it wont give you similar gains as the aem...

but still "you get what you pay for"

this is what i was trying to say

ac vs rs akimoto
will give you the same power because both are short ram intake systems and both use the same type of filter

aem vs iceman
both are cai systems and both will give the same power because both use the same type filter

weapon*r vs ac
one will give a different amount of power because they are using different types of filters. weapon*r uses a foam filter where as ac uses a k&n type filter. i think the foam filter will give you more power because they have more openings to let more air in.

as for the colder the air the better, but it can also hurt you...

we all know the colder the air the better for your engine but the colder it is it can also hurt you because your tires will be hard and not soft and will have a harder time to grip the pavement
