Man...I just did it yesterday too. It took me almost 3 hours, and I was tired as hell (I did it alone). I really think people who say it's easy are genius.:
I heard the shoo-shooin noise when I press on the gas but not when shutting down the engine. Is that normal?
Also, it rained later last night. I took out the bumper lens and found that my filter was wet. I've been told that it's fine as long as I don't drive into lake or something, but I'm still kinda worry that water would suck into my engine. So, am I ok or I should get a bypass value? Do u guys' filters are wet during raining day too?
that swooshing is normal...i rather like the sound , its just air leaving the intake or something but its normal. it used to be really loud in my old accord : yeah you'll hear it suck in air, and the intake will be fine if its a little wet...but like you said, don't drive though a deep puddle. laterz

I've had my AEM CAI for over a year and have been quite happy with it. I got the bypass at the same time and have decided not to use it. You'd really have to get deep in the water for it to be ingested. Besides, it's just to pretty to cut!
On the subject of installing it, it was easy, about 45 minutes. It took longer to remove the old air box than it did to install. Don't feel bad if you had a tough time with it. The more familiar you are working with engines, the easier it becomes. Just don't be scared of it, and don't be afraid to ask for help with it.

Tools were the problem.....
I didn't have all the right tools
I even didn't have the 10mm socket and had to run to autozone to get one.:
the noise your hearin is all the air that was about to be sucked into the engine and when you shut the car off it was all in the tube and thre throttle blody plate blocked off its path so its exiting back out the filter i liked the sound when i had the AEM CAI sounds almost like a UFO takin off =)

LOL man this ppl that r new 2 the mod scene r funny. i mean i was once b4. but it sounds funnier coming from some1 else. i mean 3hrs? geez it didnt take me that long 2 do mine when i first got it. at most 30min. and that was with my 91 teg. and now with my 95 teg it took me about 10-15 min and i didnt jack up my car 2 take off my airbox. but live and learn. the next time u have 2 do it it should take u a fraction of the time. and when it rains im just going 2 disconnect the pipe goign 2 the IM. i mean its not right but id rather do that then 2 get water n my engine. and i dont believe n that "bypass" valve. i heard some bad stories about it.

actually the sound u here is the last piston on the intake stroke "rolling" to a stop and, because the engine is off and no noise is be made, u can hear the air getting sucked into that cylinder through the cold air much louder than when the car is running, its normal and happens everyday with every car, just louder on cars with intake systems

10-15 mins?? I doubt it.....
I'm curious how u took out the stock airbox if u didn't jack up the car.....: u took out the front bumper or u have a special way??

U not kidding, right? If it's raining and u at outside of somewhere, are u gonna pop up ur hood to disconnect the pipe then drive??? lol...so do u bring an embrella with u while u doing that?? I mean....I don't know..... You are saying something that I just can't believe....:
10-15 mins? without jacking up car? then how would u take off the bottom part unless u can fit under ur car. my car is lowered. i didn't take off the front bumper. and my strut bar was in the way and i didn't wanted to take it off cuz i had to go find the tools to put it back on and shiet.. so it was a lil hard trying to manuever everything.
is it normal to hear a whistling sound from the intake? anyway to get rid of it? it's annoying..sounds like u got a leak..
