Alternator help!!!!

So i tried to change my alternator on my 90 integra gs, i realized im gonna have to disconnect the mid shaft or the axle in order to take it out.

My question is..can i use the alternator from a b16a3 to work with my stock motor??

Do they have the same part number from Acura? If so, then it will work.....

I believe the B16A3 is the one from the Del Sols correct? If so, then no- you cant use it. Its OBD1, your car is OBD0. You should be able to use any OBD0 alternator. And yes, you will probably have to remove the axle. It needs to be taken out from the bottom. I would try taking the fender line out and see if it wont fit.

Thanks guys, info was useful........

im not really an expert on hondas so heres the ?

i also realized that my car has a b18a1 motor from a 92-93 integra gs which is obd1, does the ecu has to be obd1 in order to run with the motor, or it's not important on such case.

Never mind guys, ill check the ecu to see if its wether from the stock car, or from the motor it has.

Thanx

Both the 90-91 and 92-93 integra motors are labeled B18A1. They are the same motor, however the 92-93 has 140hp and the 90-91 is rated at 130. In reality, the only real difference is that one is OBD0 and one is OBD1. You probably have the OBD0 motor in there (aka the original one). If it runs fine, i wouldnt worry about it. If youre really that concerned about which it is, look for a resistor box. OBD0 hondas had a resistor box for running peak and hold injectors, and the OBD1 ones did not.

can you disconnect the brake master cylinder from the firewall and take it out from the top? thats how i did it in my CRX much easier than going threw the bottom.

Wouldnt you have to bleed the brakes then? Id rather pull an axle then bleed brakes.

You can either take the master cylinder off or take the axle out, whatever you prefer, on my EF 4 door I had I didn't really care about the car and I used a huge bar and pried the motor forward..lol i don't recomend that, though..+1 for consuming about 12-15 shots of jager and still being able to type

no you leave the lines connected and just pull it away from the firewall and up outta the way. it gives just enough room to pull the alt outta there. I've never tried it on a 2nd gen teg but i'd imagine it would work.
